The ONLY Door Out of Darkness
Not long ago, someone asked me, “Why Jesus? Why is he the only way?” It’s a question that we all wrestle.
In so many belief systems, the focus is on what we have to do— how we can transcend our struggles, detach from our pain, or achieve a better state of being. But following Jesus isn’t about escaping life’s hardships. Instead, Jesus stepped into our mess, into our thoughts, fears, and deepest struggles. He knows the brokenness inside each of us— the secret things we keep hidden, the ones that still haunt us, the battles we face in our minds, and the burdens we carry in silence. Jesus doesn’t ask us to fix ourselves or rise above it all. He truly invites us to come to him as we are.
He didn’t come to us to bring a new philosophy or a self-help strategy. He came to offer himself as the only Door to the fullness of life we’re all searching for. He understands us, even in our doubts, our failures, and our darkest thoughts. And he still chooses to walk with us through it all.
He finished the work for us on the cross, and now he invites us into a relationship— real, personal, and full of grace. If we’re willing to come to him, he promises life beyond what we can imagine.
Scripture
"It is finished." John 19:30
"See! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me." Revelation 3:20 CSB
What are the doors you're trying to open that lead you away from him? Will you come to him with your reality and trust that he understands?
Prayer
Father God thank you for loving me so much despite, well, me. Thank you for understanding me, even in my brokenness, and entering into it with me Jesus. Help me come to you as I am, trusting that you are the only way to the life I need. Amen.
God bless you… go be and make disciples!
