Hi, I'm Robert.
Pastor. Writer. Disciple-maker. Chocolate lover. Husband to Lisa, and dad to Brayden, who serves in the U.S. Coast Guard. I lead Sherwood Community Friends Church in Sherwood, Oregon, where Lisa and I have planted our lives.
I've spent over two decades in ministry and leadership, hold a Master's in Pastoral Counseling, and have had the privilege of bringing God’s Good News to Nicaragua, Greece, Haiti, Brazil, the Czech Republic, and beyond. I've led churches through growth and hard seasons, walked alongside people in their best and worst moments, and never once stopped being convinced that following Jesus is worth everything it costs.
When I'm not doing pastor things, you'll find me on a hiking trail, rucking around my neighborhood, or standing in front of my Traeger grilling up some part of an animal and making no apologies for it.
Years ago, I started writing — not because I had it all figured out, quite the opposite actually, but because I kept meeting followers of Jesus who were faithful and sincere, yet quietly stuck. They believed. They showed up to do God things. But somewhere along the way the fire in them had dimmed, or the call had gotten louder and they didn't know what to do with it.
That's why I write. Every week I send out a free email that goes deep into Scripture, Biblical context, and the real-life application behind what it actually means to follow Jesus. It’s not a devotional or a Christian pep talk. It’s kind of thing that makes you stop, think, and do something differently.
If any of that resonates, you're in the right place.
