On the Edge? Find Refuge in God's Presence
Here's a thought, scripture, and prayer to guide us.
Thought:
Our hearts often chase ambition, craving success, recognition, and the thrill of reaching new heights or seeking self-improvement by some degree. But in that pursuit, we risk running toward the edge, where we can fall, lost in our desires and disconnected from what truly matters—our relationship with God. Simply that.
Psalm 91 reminds us of God's promise: when we make him our refuge, he protects and sustains us. The path of life without God leads to a cliff, but with him, we find safety, purpose, and peace. Our achievements will never complete us or give us ultimate fulfillment of purpose or real, true peace-- only God can do that.
LIVE IT OUT
Consider a crack or crevice where God is missing in your life. How can you shift your focus to make him the center, the source of your joy and purpose?
Scripture:
“If you make the LORD your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won't even hurt your foot on a stone.” Psalm 91:9-12 NLT
Prayer:
Father God guide our steps and anchor our heart in your love so we make you the centerpiece of our life. In Jesus name amen!!
